Getting a Yoto icon onto a card
Every Yoto Make Your Own card shows an icon per track on the player's screen, and that screen is a 16×16 grid — 256 pixels, about the size of a fingernail. That is the whole constraint, and it is why icons pulled from anywhere else tend to arrive as a smudge.
These are drawn for the grid rather than shrunk onto it. All 343 are transparent PNGs at exactly 16×16, or GIFs where they move. Download one, open your card in the Yoto app, pick a track and upload it — there is nothing to crop or resize.
Every icon is free for personal use on your own cards. Please do not resell them — the full terms are two paragraphs long.

Common questions
- What size are Yoto icons?
- 16×16 pixels. The player's screen is a 16×16 grid, so anything larger is scaled down and anything with fine detail turns to mush. Every icon here is already exactly that size.
- What format does a Yoto icon need to be?
- PNG with a transparent background for a still icon, GIF for an animated one. Both are what you get here, so there is nothing to convert.
- How do I put an icon on a Yoto card?
- Download the file, open your Make Your Own card in the Yoto app, pick a track, and upload it as the track's icon. It applies per track, not per card.
- Are these Yoto icons free?
- Yes, free for personal use on your own cards, with no account and no sign-up. The only thing we ask is that you do not resell them.
- Why do my own Yoto icons look blurry?
- Almost always because a photo or a large graphic was shrunk to 16×16. At that size an image has 256 pixels to work with, so it has to be drawn for the grid rather than resized onto it.
- Can Yoto icons be animated?
- Yes. Animated icons are GIFs and they move on the player's screen. If you upload through the Yoto API rather than the app, set autoConvert to false or the animation is flattened to one frame.
